Once again we went to the Annual Chuck Wagon Gathering at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. It’s a fun time! The Chuck Wagon Gathering is kid oriented with all activities geared towards children. The activities include rope making, blacksmith’s making horse shoe nail rings, pony rides, stagecoach rides, horseshoe throwing, cowboy poetry and singing, and much more, but the best part is tasting the various chuck wagon meals that are prepared like the dutch oven cobbler, homemade stew, beans & cornbread, and various other meals that used to be prepared during roundup or cattle drives back in the day. This museum is a great treasure to our state. Enjoy! Charlie
