Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band coming to Norman

Once again this week marks the annual road trip north for the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band as they travel from Aggieland for the A&M vs. OU football game in Norman. Theywill travel in 10 buses and arrive early to practice on the OU Band practice field.  I must say this is the best marching band in the nation.  The precision of the march with the stirring patriotic music is unparalleled in any university’s marching band.

The band forms at the north end of the stadium, the announcer Col. Jay Brewer announces “Now forming at the north end of Owen Field the nationally famous Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band” Whoops! are heard from the Aggies.  Then the drum major steps out and shouts “Recall Step Off On Hullabaloo” you know you are about to witness a drill like none other, the War Hymn is sounded and the band steps off.  Whoop!  The drill ends with the famous block T.

For those that can’t attend here is a video I located on Vimeo.

Enjoy!

Personal Project One

I came up with a concept that I wanted to personally photograph, something unique and different that I haven’t done before.  I don’t use textures or mute down my photos that much, but with this series I wanted to experiment.

We had some really bad fires across some urban & rural areas earlier in the spring and I wanted to photograph in some burned out areas.  However, we had 19 of 22 days of rain this past month so this shoot kept getting delayed.  I want to personally thank Tiffany (my beautiful model) for being my subject, it was very muddy and we had a few other obstacles to overcome, but all in all it was accomplished….

This  is one of two personal projects I am working on.  I have an idea for another shoot coming up really quick that I believe is going to be really cool as well.  Jac get ready….Enjoy!

Three in Concert

We went to a concert of local talent last night (well they live here, but they have a large following around the country).  Since my daughter and niece had reserved VIP front row passes we decided we could not miss it.  The three performers were Maggie McClure, Laura Gossett, and Josh Roberts .  They were all awesome and it was very entertaining & enjoyable (makes me wish I was a singer, but I know my limitations – they held their audience – I know what would happen if I attempted it – RUN!)  Maggie is going to school, but travels around the region entertaining, Laura is on her way to L.A. (good luck girl-call me when the big day comes :) )  & Josh is on his way to Nashville – good luck – follow your dreams.  Anyway, I am sure that if you click on their names and come across some music you like they would appreciate your support.

Enjoy!  Charlie

Thought I would share an image from a session I did late last year.  Two sisters of three and they are ‘little angels’.  Enjoy!   Charlie

Coming Soon To A Theatre Near You

Here is a movie poster I made from our previous photo session.  This idea was generated from a fellow colleague, Eric Doggett of mine who inspired my creativity to give it a try.

Enjoy!  Charlie

December 2007 – A look back.

Thought I would share some images from 2007.  We had a major ice storm in December last year and of course the joy of Christmas morning!  Enjoy!  Charlie
